Dynamic Steel Project To Pay Tribute To Steelpan Builder “Birch” Kelman With Special Concert in Baltimore

To commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Khandeya Sheppard and the Dynamic Steel Project are paying tribute to steelpan builder and pioneer, Bertrand “Birch” Kelman with a special concert on September 24, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Considered one of the greatest steelpan tuners/builders by the global steelpan community at large, Kelman has a rich history with steelpan. He is a member of the Trinidad and Tobago National Steelband that performed at Expo ’67 in Montreal, Canada and the resident master tuner for Renegades Steel Orchestra. He was also instrumental in helping Jit Samaroo become the arranger for Renegades, which led to nine Panorama championships between 1980 and 1997.
