Morgantown, W.V., July 13 — Players, Pan makers, and enthusiasts from all over gathered to enjoy the opening festivities at this year’s Manette Festival of Steel. The event opened with a faculty recital, featuring world-renowned players, Andy Narell, Jeff Narell, and the return of Ken “Professor” Philmore. Ellie Manette will be featured as well.
The event takes place at the Clarion Hotel Morgan in Morgantown, West Virginia from July 13-19. Faculty will guide attendees through master classes and panels on topics that include technique, arranging for steel bands of all levels and rehearsals that lead to a final concert with paid attendees performing.
