For the sixth straight year, the Los Angeles Culture Festival and Hollywood Carnival Parade took over the streets of Hollywood, Calif. to the delight of its festival crowd. The event featured cultures from all over the world, including Trinidad & Tobago, Belize, Guatemala, Mexico, and Brazil, among others.
“The 6th edition of the Los Angeles Culture Festival and Hollywood Carnival Parade on the world famous Hollywood Blvd was another great success! Held on the last weekend in June each year, with representation of people from over 40 countries and 70 parade groups/bands, the four-day event attracts visitors from all over the world and grows each year,” said Harold Ganga, chairman and CEO of the Hollywood Carnival Parade and Los Angeles Culture Fest. “The parade is three miles long and is lined with beautiful floats, music trucks, fantasy costumes and various cultural dress that miraculously transforms Hollywood Blvd into a grand extravaganza, fun for the whole family.”
The Carnival Culture Village, held on the same day after the parade, hosts 5,000 people, a 40-foot sound stage, full liquor bar, 12 international restaurants and offers seven hours of world-class entertainment from various international and local famous artists, including soca star Machel Montano.
Returning to the parade again this year was Success Steel Orchestra (out of Carson, Calif.), performing steelpan music during the parade in an effort to showcase what pan is capable of in this setting.
